Using tech from the past as a psychomotor assessment by Stephanie

I know I wish I could use this as an assessment. What about you guys? I know a lot of us feel like we're over-worked right now, so I thought a super awesome idea for an assessment courtesy of a Grad student somewhere out there in the world would help ease the stress a little.

How much fun can we bring into our classrooms? Check the link below. It's actually pretty cool.

  1. Psychomotor assessment is an amazing way to connect the subconsciousness with learning. I plan on using it in teaching history and social studies. One of the simplest forms of this is to orientate your classroom differently when teaching different standards/goals. Getting students to identify the orientation of the classroom with the subject matter can help them categorize this information which will make it easier to recall from memory at a latter date. Image if you were teaching a class and working from a large concept to a small concept. You could start your class in the gym or auditorium, discussing the larger concepts then work your way to smaller and smaller rooms until you get to the focused or small concept. This can also be done in your class by having all the students stand in the biggest circle the room provides and taking a step in as the concepts get more focused.

Add to blog in a sincere and thoughtful manner. You may provide outside links for classmates, photos, music, reflections on class experiences, and more as long as these postings are directly tied to either my posted prompt AND/OR class topics/readings. The language may be informal "blog lingo" as long as your efforts are sincere and well tied to our purpose with the course.
