Positively Present

As we begin this week of class, I thought I might share a few words of wisdom. In all areas of our life, and certainly in this class, I think everyone can benefit from maintaining an open mind. I find myself sometimes forgetting to do this and I hope I'm not the only one! This is something to remember as students now, and one day as teachers.

  1. Thank you for this because I do find myself a lot forgetting and sometimes I think that simple reassurance can go a long way. We all have a lot going on in our lives and it is a balancing act, especially right now, but I feel when we have class of our own we will give and take and experiment a little until we find what works for us. As long as we stay positive and confident, we should have a great time and help students the best way possible, thanks for this Hannah.

  2. I could not agree more with what both of you have said. I know for myself I can be really closed-minded if I am not in a good mood or have something else on my mind (maybe this is just me). This semester has been crazy so far and I know I have not been positive or open-minded as much as I could or should be. I know I need to improve upon this for teaching. As Nick said, I think if we stay positive and confident in our teaching ability we will be successful

  3. Why can't there be a like button on here like on Facebook? Steven, well said. And I definitely agree that if I'm not in the best mood, it's hard for me to keep an open mind.

Thank you, Hannah, for sharing this. Because we definitely needed it lately!

Add to blog in a sincere and thoughtful manner. You may provide outside links for classmates, photos, music, reflections on class experiences, and more as long as these postings are directly tied to either my posted prompt AND/OR class topics/readings. The language may be informal "blog lingo" as long as your efforts are sincere and well tied to our purpose with the course.
