50 Shades of Students

I thought that this video was really interesting and corresponded to the idea of a "spectrum" of students. Whether you are talking about disabilities, gender, sexuality, race, etc. I believe that talking to students about where they may fall on a spectrum would be a pretty powerful lesson for the first day of class. Just something to keep in mind.

    This was powerful!

    "visibility really is key. familiarity really is the key to empathy. Once an issue pops up in your own backyard or or amongst your own family, you are more likely to explore sympathy for it or explore new perspectives."

Add to blog in a sincere and thoughtful manner. You may provide outside links for classmates, photos, music, reflections on class experiences, and more as long as these postings are directly tied to either my posted prompt AND/OR class topics/readings. The language may be informal "blog lingo" as long as your efforts are sincere and well tied to our purpose with the course.
